COL Robert W. Black: A Ranger Born

COL Robert W. Black couldn't wait to join the US Army so he could be a paratrooper in WWII. Unfortunately for him, the war ended too soon. But it didn't stop him from joining the Army. While cleaning the latrine and listening to his transistor radio, he learned that North Korea had invaded South Korea. As a member of the 82nd Airborne, he jumped at the chance to become a US Army Ranger. This short documentary film follows Ranger Black to Korea and was played at his induction as a Living Legend at the US Army Heritage Center Foundation dinner.

After 9/11, Dr. Gene Bolles from Denver Colorado enlisted his services as a neurosurgeon to the US Military. His experiences during his time served were life changing along with his perspective on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Salam Ismael from Baghdad was studying to be an orthopedic surgeon when the U.S. invaded Fallujah. He relates first-hand accounts of what went on in the city shortly after the U.S. sieges took place. Salam is a member of a group called Doctors for Iraq who are striving to help bring a sense of humanity back to his country.
