Battle Behind the Bottle

Terrorists are entering the United States through all of its borders, the US-Canadian border, US-Mexican border, through its waterways and private airports. This documentary pieces together many stories never before revealed to the public by undercover federal agents, the senior council to the 9/11 Commission, local and state law enforcement officials, and terrorism experts. Combining their expert testimony and stories with my personal story of why I made the this film, America's non-war on terrorism will be revealed and how each of us is affected everyday.

The Airborne Patrols follows the infamous 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division from their departure for Iraq in June 2007 to their return home in July 2008. The producers were granted unprecedented access to the Paratroopers through video cameras provided directly to the troops on the ground who were a part of the 'Surge' effort. These soldier-camera operators take us across the battlefield as they investigate, track down, chase and subdue suspected insurgents who attack our troops. We also see the smiles on the faces of Iraqi children as the troops give out toys, build hospitals, open schools and ensure the streets are safe again. With less than 50,000 troops left in Iraq today, our film may be the final look at the war.

Sometimes your mistake can evolve into a positive end. Kelly Dougherty enlisted in the National Guard, but it did not turn out in the way she had envisioned. Her goal of becoming a medic ended up with a tour in Iraq as military police. Her service in Iraq reinforced her feelings about the war and after her return home she became a full-time advocate for the rights of servicemen and women, along with veterans suffering from trauma and health problems.
