The insistence of their tradesmen for payment on past due bills compels Paul, the Viscount De Sallure, and his young American wife Florence to invent imaginative measures in order to tap the principal amount of Florence's dowry. Concocting a scheme by which the couple would divorce, acquire the money and then remarry, Paul pretends to have an affair with Mlle. Fifi.
