Another Way: D-Kikan-Joho

Summary One of a series of classic war films grandly released to commemorate the victory in the anti-fascist war, this movie is based on Kyotaro Nishimura's espionage novel, "Organ D Intelligence". It depicts the story of Sekiya, a fanatical militarist, who goes from madness to wandering and confusion, and finally recognizes the deep disaster that militarism has brought to the Japanese people. In 1945, the Japanese army was losing ground in the Pacific, and in order to recover from the defeat, the military department decided to develop a special bomb, and for this purpose, the Navy Lieutenant Commander Sekiya was assigned to carry jewels to Switzerland, a neutral country, to buy raw material uranium. The military of the Japanese Embassy in Germany, Yabe, and the journalist Kasai, who assisted Sekiya, advised Sekiya to stop buying uranium, and that an immediate truce should be promoted in order to truly save Japan. The U.S. Intelligence Agency also contacted Sekiya several times, which finally brought him to his senses. He suggested that the military ministry should immediately engage in peace negotiations, but this was rejected. Undaunted, Sekiya continued to work for the end of the war. . View more details
