Anima Sola represents the souls in purgatory that require the assistance of both the living and the divine to alleviate their suffering hellish. A new young group are trapped in a house in Vargem Grande, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and haunted by Gestas, who seeks his salvation through the reincarnation of the soul in a young girl who just moved to the house.
