The Artesanos Of Guapulo
Introduction. This is a documentary about six friends that met in their path of their lives at the barrio of Guapulo, in Quito, Ecuador, where most of them lived at some point of their lives together, and experienced the joy of life in a period were most of the things we see today in our artesano markets and streets, are gone. The experiences of the Artesanos learnt in their journeys through Central and South America. Development. Based on street live and the vibrant swagger that existed in the Avenida Amazonas between 1991 to 1995, Edgar started a journey, and in 1998 in a place called Port George, Western Australia. Climax. Edgar Franco tells us in an unique magical fiction style, the real stories throughout his eyes in the twenty plus years in the making of this project; those stories are the experiences following his six friends German in Sydney, Australia, Juliet in Zurich, Switzerland, Ruther in Cambridge, England, Edgar in Toronto, Canada, and Ivan and Angel in Quito Ecuador. Denouement. The impact that the life in Guapulo made in each one in this project, teach us how they learnt how to live and be stronger, especially when you are the most vulnerable. Resolution. Edgar returned to Quito in 2018 after filming their lives visiting them in various occasions in their homes., by traveling and exploring the horizons of life.
