A Very Country Christmas: Homecoming

Some men seem to have all the luck. They can date anyone woman they want and easily find love. For the men in this family it's the complete opposite. And So It Goes explores the generations of men from one particular family who struggle to find love. Whether it was failing to "get the girl" or keeping the one they loved, these men just can't get it right. And So It Goes is a low budget comedy-drama independent film, that follows multiple generations of men from one family through time in a series of short stories. First, we meet Charlie in the 1920's as he does everything to get a beautiful girl's attention done as a silent film. We then go forward a few decades and peak in on a heated therapy session of a husband and wife who seem to hate each other. Mostly she thinks he's an idiot and he thinks she's a...well you get the point. Things then get serious in a story told completely through a poem about a man who is too afraid to approach the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He must decide whether to walk away or take a chance. His answer could change his life forever. Sometimes love is the hardest thing to find. Sometimes we pass by it, sometimes we are clueless to it, and sometimes we destroy it.

Guy Ali, betrayed by his wife and business partner, returns from prison to find that his sister has fallen behind on the home mortgage and faces foreclosure. Motivated by a ten million dollar prize, he enters a local, urban chess competition where he comes across quite a few interesting characters and situations! Can he save the house and redeem his honor? Can he love again?

Chris, a student, ambitious in his own way but resisting tutors, was always in trouble until, at an auction sale, he purchased an old Oriental lamp because of its odd design, not dreaming that it was possessed of magical powers which he discovered when he began polishing it. A huge slave appeared, told him the lamp was his master and that he was prepared to obey any command that its owner, Chris, might give. As a test Chris bade the slave to transform himself into another Chris. He then sent the double of himself to school, where he was made to take the thrashings intended for Chris and to serve as the butt of many jokes and experiences meant for the real Chris. When the genie finally decides that he does not relish serving as Chris' double, the real trouble and fun begins, involving Chris' father and mother, teachers, family doctor, and farcical mix-ups develop with great rapidity. The doings of "Chris and the Wonderful Lamp" in the days of the Twentieth Century rival the best of Arabian Night tales.
