Despite his successful career as a lawyer, Bálint Riskó finds it difficult to manage as a newly divorced father. Now he lives in a rented apartment, his car is dodgy and even his girlfriend wants him to marry her. He wants to get better, more rewarding causes, but again he is entrusted with a petty case: two construction workers drunkenly messing up, and one of them dies. Being an excellent lawyer he wins the case, despite being certain of his protege's's guilt.

Dr. Riskó is entrusted with such a case, which has already been thrown back by a previous defender. According to the case, a man dies in hospital after days off suffering. An autopsy reveals a severe, prolonged poisoning, and his mother-in-law is placed in preliminary detention, but the old woman denies. Her daughter, the dead man's wife is asking for a retrial, saying her mother is innocent. Dr. Riskó doesn't really make it either, but when the old woman becomes unwell in custody, she confesses everything to him.

A middle-aged teacher is approached by one of his students and they begin a love affair. When the teacher is taken into custody, he doesn't understand what's wrong because they love each other, although he also knows having an affair with a thirteen-year-old gypsy girl may not be right. The purity of their love puts their lawyer in a romantic mood, who calls some of his former female acquaintances, but their reactions only discourage him.

While his ex-wife is on vacation, Dr. Riskó supervises their son, and one Sunday they're invited for lunch at his secretary's home. During the meal, a loud argument is heard from the apartment next door, and the secretary tells the lawyer that the woman who lives there needs legal help. The lawyer tries to ignore the request, but when the woman gets arrested on charges of murdering her husband, he is the first who sign up to defend her.

Kóbor kutya
A teenage girl is released from a juvenile correctional facility, her mother and her new husband are waiting at the gate to bring her home. The family idyll does not last long, the girl soon begins an independent life with the help of a host family, where she soon attacks their only son with a knife. At the court hearing, as witnesses are questioned one by one, some terrible secret from the past is revealed.

With the unexpected reappearance of an old love, the lawyer's family life seems to be sorted out, but the idyllic situation does not last long. The court receives a summons stating that he has a child with a former female acquaintance, which he denies. Arriving at the trial of the case, he is surprised to find that the arbitrator is his current girlfriend, who is very curious about the outcome of the case.
