A Brand New Life

A village girl from Africa happens to find herself in the most dehumanizing, torturous, violent and unendurable circumstances in the United States, plunged by a battle of life or death. Would she survive the violence, rape and torture?

Ranjan (Abhi Bhattacharya) is the only son of a very wealthy man, and is in love with Chanda (Chandabai) who he once accidently ran over with his car. This love affair is not known to Ranjan's dad, who wants him to marry Lata (Geeta Bali) who is a simple yet pretty village girl. Ranjan reluctantly agrees to marry Lata. And on the marriage night makes it clear to Lata that he has married her to please his dad; and even introduces Lata to his true love Chanda, and asks Lata to keep this secret from his dad. Meanwhile back in the village everyone thinks that Lata is happily married. Another fellow villager, Rashad (Sunder), a struggling and unsuccessful poet, comes to the big city and tries to con a wealthy blind woman into making her believe that he is her long lost son, as he himself can be rich and marry his love, Geeta (Shammi) who is Lata's sister. Will Ranjan finally accept Lata as his lawful wife, if so what will happen to Chanda?

Brothers Romulus and Attila discover a time capsule in their backyard - its sole content is a VHS recording of a 1980s fitness instructor named Abraham. Their sister, Darla, becomes enthralled with The Instructor's program; she starts watching it religiously. Attila, jealous for Darla's love, rivals The Instructor by forming his own fitness cult. However, there is only one for Darla.

It is April 1945, the end of the Second World War is approaching and the fighting is still going on. Tenants of a house in a Moravian town withdraw to the cellar with their children in the face of approaching danger. For children, especially little Marenka and Sasa, this means just another adventure and occasion for new games. Both children also look out for the first Soviet soldier. Sasa, out of impatience, even unlocks the main door of the house - only to face two German soldiers with machine-gun hiding on the other side. They break into the house and begin to shoot at the street.
