'night, Mother

The story follows a warm and loving family, albeit with a strict father. He is protective of his three daughters, but they rebel from his control. Konwasa, the oldest, was sent to study abroad, as she is to take over the family business, but she prefers independence and thus goes to work at an interior design firm, rather than her father's construction business. Konwasa has also married her sweetheart but keeps it a secret until he has established himself. Anthra works as a private eye, chasing down cheating husbands, which made her very cynical towards men. The youngest, InthuOrn, likes to please her father. Her dream is to be a ballerina but fears her father would not approve. InthuOrn has a crush on her father's unhappily married friend, who is much older than her.

Taichi and Hana Yamaguchi are an old-fashioned middle-aged couple with two children about to become independent. As they prepare for their daughter's upcoming wedding to Taichi 's work underling, they find that the love they themselves experienced at the time of their marriage isn't really there anymore. The wedding planner becomes smitten with Taichi when he begins to meet her often for conversations, and she eventually seduces him into bed, creating a rift in the middle-aged couple. At the same time, their college-student son falls in love himself with a nurse who is much older than he is and has a little daughter, to boot. They will have to fight for their love to be accepted by his parents.
