Hjem: Living at the End of the World

Summary Hammerfest (Norway) is the northernmost city in the world. A tough place at the Arctic Circle, where in winter the sun doesn't rise and during the summer it doesn't set for months. A place where the magic of the aurora draws virtuous paintings of light in the sky and the power of nature is as palpable as nowhere else in the world. The documentary 'HJEM' is focusing on the fundamental question, what the term 'home' means to people who find themselves confronted on a daily basis with the harshness and beauty of nature. How does one live in such a place, and why do they live there? View more details

The Tales of Panch Tantra

The Year 1984' s mid summer, In Chelone (India) lives Sumeru - a dreamer, Lakhbeer- ever competitive, Ayub- the shy one , Navya - the wildest and Mangal - the clever and playful. All the five kids learn and play together the whole day, but the best part of their day is to listen to a bedtime story from Dadi a veteran puppeteer. In the middle of the Summer, with the drought at its peak in Chelone the five children find themselves lost, emotionally broken and are shattered, as the villagers decide that its no longer safe for the old and elderly to live in the village, Which also includes Dadi. The kids lose their favorite pass time but soon find a friend, mentor, guide and a protector in a 200 year old giant Tortoise named Kalki, who can also talk and have a lot of stories to share. Though surprised and scared initially, the kids come to terms and form a bond with Kalki and they also find a way to convince Kalki to tell them the stories they have been obsessed with. The day arrives when Kalki agrees and takes the children with him into the stories as he transpires these 5 curious kids into Aarithil, a land of Plenty and the strangest. These stories not only define the lives of these five children, but also help them better the life of the villagers at Chelone. However when a mysterious roar from the forbidden forest threatens the existence of the village, it is these five children that help the village survive the scare. Though the villagers and the kids find relief in the end, another threat looms large over the village. Does the forbidden forest hold more secrets that could change the fate of the village and its existence?
