Perfect Frank
Danny is assigned to investigate Edgar "Eddie Breeze" Bryzinski, who is running a bookmaking ring from the back room of his local ice cream parlor. Breeze is part of a larger criminal organization, the head of which the FBI wants to nail for several murders. Hoping to implicate Breeze, Danny makes a number of big bets guaranteed to lose, but Breeze keeps covering his losses. Chance is placed on the inside as a counterman at the ice cream parlor. Part of the problem is that Danny does not know who the enforcer is. Finally, Danny lets his family convince him to seek the assistance of a seasoned bookie from his past: his imprisoned brother, Frank. Frank tells Danny that Breeze isn't on him because Breeze isn't making any bets for Danny-Breeze is keeping the money. Barbara also attempts to make some bad bets, but no one is able to make any headway in the investigation. Frank wants to deal with Danny before he helps him. Danny says he cannot help. Then Frank threatens to tell Breeze that Danny and Chance are FBI. Agent Brooks makes deal. Danny brings Frank home for a few days. Frank finally leads Danny to Breeze, but when Danny goes to see him, he finds Breeze dead. Frank escapes, steals one of Danny's guns and the car. Frank wants revenge on Gillaway (the head honcho). [Gillaway sent an enforcer to get Frank, Frank killed the enforcer in self-defense but no one believed him and so he went to jail for murder.] Danny convinces Frank to testify against Gillaway.

In Plain Sight
Danny and Chance leave town for a few days to work on a case at a nearby Indian reservation, where Danny thinks he'll be able to show Chance how to gamble. But the case isn't as child-friendly as Danny had anticipated: it seems that Clifford Harris (Richard Gilbert-Hill), a teacher at the local high school, may be molesting one of his students (Benny Yazzie: Shane Dillon). Meanwhile, Celeste is having school trouble of her own--she doesn't know how to make new friends because of the way the Arnos have to live. She finally meets a girl in her class, Robin (Jodi Lea Webster), who she seems to have a lot in common with. Danny does not like that Chance knows more about child molestation than he realized. And the fact that Chance is 12-years old and starting to notice girls. Ruby realizes there's trouble when she discovers that Robin's mother (Christy Ann Harnick: Maggie Baird) is on the FBI's "Most Wanted" list. Danny does not want Chance involved in his case. Celeste brings Robin home and Robin does some snooping and finds out the truth about her mom. Chance discovers that Benny is in love. Celeste is furious that Ruby was investigating her friends mother (and upsetting her only friend in town). Danny wants to have the birds and the bees conversation with Chance, but he already had it with Celeste. Barbara talks with Christy and Celeste looks for Robin. Danny is successful with blackmailing Harris, but Danny and Chance dont believe he is guilty. Both Barbara and Celeste tell Christy and Robin the truth about them being FBI. When Robin and Celeste get home, the police are all over the house and arrest her. Robin feels even more betrayed by Celeste. Barbara tries to explain, but Celeste runs away. At the police station, Christy tells Robin the truth. It turns out that Benny is in lovewith Mrs. Harris.

Vegas Mother's Day: Part 2
The Arnos are still in Las Vegas, where Danny's assignment--to protect Ed Linson, a casino owner and former mobster who's been cooperating with the FBI--has taken a turn for the worse. Without telling Danny, Linson has sold his casino to known mobster Lon Columby (Paul Hipp), and has now mysteriously gone missing. What's the real story behind the sale? Mary vows to do something about her being dirty. The sale means Columby is now the boss at the nightclub where Danny's been resurrecting his lounge act. One of Columby's first moves is to fire Danny.

Now Columby is bringing in his old Mob cronies (Mike Dulgarifat one: Billy Gardell, Stevie Christmasshort one: John Mariano, Jimmy Caccone: David Lee Smith) to help him create his vision of a new (and Mafia-controlled) Las Vegas Lon wants to build a new casino / mall about 15 miles out of Vegas. Danny appeals to Ellen Lederer (Jodi Russell), another FBI agent who's been working the casino, for help, but her personal relationship with Columby may get in the way of bringing him to justice.

Barbara and the kids return to Vegas as the rule is never leave your partner without back-up. Barbara goes to look for Danny and runs into Mary Columby. The best hope for stopping Lon might just be his mother. Mary already knew Danny was a fed. Mary refuses to testify against Lonshe doesnt want to spend the rest of her life in witness protection. However, she offers a solution. If the cronies Lon brought in think Lon is scamming them, they will turn on Lon. They are legit and dont want to get into anything illegal. There doesnt need to be a true scam, just create an atmosphere of distrust. While investigating the scam, Lon, the three cronies, and Mary find Danny and Barbara murdered in their bed. Mary implies that Lon is the murderer.

The three crones are interviewed by the gaming commission and questioned about their relationships with Lon and his involvement of Dannys first partners death, Linsons disappearance and where Danny is. Determined to get his man, Danny decides to approach Buddha Jacks Jackson (Johnny Yaya McClain), a disillusioned ex-boxer formerly represented by Rocker who retired three years earlier after killing an opponent (McClelland) in the ring (but was that killing fixed ?). The Arnos' influence has a healing effect on Buddha, and he finally agrees to help by announcing his return to the ring and fixing his fight with Rocker in advanceon the condition that Rocker gets nailed for murder and nothing less. Chance is upset with Danny because Danny wont tell Buddha the truththat he is no longer going after Rocker for murder, just fixing fights. When he does, Buddha thinks Chance is a traitor. The rest of the family backs Chance in thinking that Danny messed up. Buddha changes camps and goes back to Rocker. But now that the fix is in, is Buddha really working for the Feds--or for himself? Sub-Zero
Chance explains why even though the Arno kids are talented and/or pretty, they try not to call any attention to themselves (even if that means losing a race on purpose). A warning fax is sent to the school. When Miss Collins (Heather Beers) is murdered at the children's school, Danny masquerades as a substitute teacher in order to investigate. The prime suspect is Kent Kessler aka the shooter (Tim Redwine) who got teased too much over the years and had a crush on Ms. Collinsand it doesnt help when a rifle is found in his locker. Barbara is uneasy about the kids going to school and helping Danny. Celeste tries to get close to Kent but he is mean and she storms off. He also makes fun of other students. Danny tells him to stop, and Kent storms out of the classroom and cuts himself (not for the first time) in the boys room. Addie (Lauren Hodges) is filming / interviewing the students and staff about the attackswhat do they think, are they afraid, etc. Another warning fax comes in and the vice principal calls a code red (lock down); Dannys name is at the top of the list. Addie has a secret but she wont tell Danny. Kent gets drunk and tries to hang himself. When a second teacher becomes ill, Evan Pallin, the security guard (Steve Rankin) drives the teacher to the hospital. However, the reporters get to the hospital before anyone from the school does and yet no one called 911. (This rules out the reporters listening to the police scanners so how did they get there so fast??) Celeste finds out that Kent was being taunted by Evan. Addie tells Ruby that she sent the first fax but not the second one (she wanted a sensational story). A newspaper comes out with Danny as the hero for saving the teachers life. Evan is angry because Danny got the credit and not him. Danny confronts Evan about alerting the press so they would show up at the hospital before themhopefully so Evan would get the hero credit. Danny taunts Evan about him being useless and screwing up the first rescue (he poisoned Ms. Collins so he could rescue her and get the hero credit, but failed because he couldn't swim and she drowned). Evan and Danny tussle and fall into the pool. Kent hears Evan yelling for help. He pulls an unconscious Danny out of the pool and gives him CPR. Evan makes it to the side of the pool with the help of a life preserver.

Befriend and Betray

Befriend and Betray

Criminal organizations succeed by enforcing a strict code of trust and loyalty. To penetrate these organizations and gain access to their inner circles the police need a magic bullet. Alex Caine is that magic bullet. Only 30 years old, Alex, who grew up hard on the mean streets of Montreal, already brings a lifetime's worth of experience (foster care, military service, prison time) to the world's most dangerous occupation: professional gang infiltrator. His job is to befriend criminals, participate in their illegal activities, and gather evidence--then live long enough to testify against them in court. Inspired by real-life events, "Befriend and Betray" tells the story of Alex's first infiltration assignment: the case that transformed him from a rootless young man into a highly effective, defiantly unconventional crime-fighting resource. He is approached by P.C. Lau, a ruthlessly ambitious soldier for the Kam Tin Triad, who asks him to help his old prison acquaintance with a business proposition. Since Alex comes from Montreal and speaks French, P.C. figures that he's just the man to be the face of the Kam Tin as they try to move their heroin into eastern Canada. What P.C. doesn't realize is that Alex has been approached by the police and Criminal Intelligence Services who have asked him to say "yes" to P.C.'s proposal--thus giving them a long sought-after way into the Kam Tin. Complicating matters for Alex is the fact that his girlfriend Melanie has no idea that he's agreed to work for the police. Alex figures that the less she knows, the safer she'll be. But the more he lies to protect her, the more likely he is to lose the one person who sees him as more than just a valuable crime-fighting asset. Combining action, suspense, humour, and actual details drawn from the case files of Alex Caine, "Befriend and Betray" tells the story of one man's re-birth as an infiltrator--and his struggle to not lose his identity or his life along the way.
