Michelle Monaghan is an American actress, who has been appearing in numerous films and television series and has been active for more than two decades. As a child, she enjoyed acting in school plays and quickly developed an ability to figure out what the script actually demanded and also a knack for getting into her character, adding a personal flair to it. Raised in a small town, Michelle never dreamed of becoming an actress. However, she began modeling while in her high school, eventually leaving home to study journalism in Chicago. Later she moved to New York City, where she continued to model, doing stints on the runways in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, concurrently appearing on magazines and catalogs. Eventually in 2000, she debuted on screen, starring in an array of commercially successful films and television series since then.
