Eye Opener is a nationally syndicated breakfast show which launched on May 9th, 2011. The two-hour program supplied morning viewers with their news headlines, weather and traffic hosted by Kirby OConnell, Sean Dowling and Adam Lee Campbell. They are at times irreverent, provocative, endearing and always unpredictable. Whether they are recapping a breaking story or supplying your daily viral video fix, these three are on the bleeding edge of morning television. Kirby brings you what youll need to know before getting out the door. Sean tracks national and international news headlines with his NewsStream, and ALC follows the collective consciousness of internet users in his rapidly changing Trend Tracker segments.
Eye Opener features a variety of experts including Dr. Steve Salvatore, a board certified Emergency Medicine physician who covers a mix of wellness topics including fitness and nutrition experts, kitchen nutrition makeovers, and topical parenting issues. Teresa M. Pelham and Sarah Cody bring us their Mommy Minute, focusing on parenting issues. Roger Lodge of Blind Date fame kicks butt and takes names in his Rogers Rants, and Bohus Blahut, our Casual Expert, who boils complicated news stories down to the bottom line how they affect the lives of our viewers. On the lighter side, theres his holiness, Monsignor OFlaherty, who reads from the Gospel of Twitter and the profound thoughts of celebrities from Snooki to Dr. Dre. And dont overlook our hunky handyman, Wrench, who prefers working shirtless as he gives us household hints to keep your home in shape in Toolin Around With Wrench.
Within its first ten weeks on air, Eye Opener beat its national and local competition in the key demos on its launch station in Houston. The show was produced in Chicago. This successful format and on-air talent was scrapped when its budget was slashed and the show relocated to Dallas.
