Pascal saves Gabriel from the flames, but doesn't escape his fury: he's found counterfeit equipment amongst his things and orders him to leave the company. Destouches is found dead in his shop. Solène summons Gabriel to the crime scene, certain that he's holding back information.

Théo's murder revives the case. The initial evidence seems to incriminate Pascal, who no doubt wanted him silenced. Gabriel hopes that recent events will persuade Solène to take up the investigation, but she now seems to believe it was an accident. Gabriel has to continue his combat alone.
