After an escape attempt provokes Carbone's attacker, Carbone maintains enough composure to plant leave evidence. Carbone continues to reason with her captor, convincing him to leave her alive. Cousins Tabitha Sells and Christy Carroll worked together at an auto shop in Greensboro, North Carolina. On normal business day they became the targets of a colleague's jealous wife, Shelly Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe is fixated on Sells and an imaginary affair between Sells and Ratcliffe's husband.
