S1.E17 ∙ Getting to First Base

Louisa is living a gloomy life. She takes rescue in literature, loosing herself in books and novels. One day she takes a book from the library, she did not choose: A guide to Lucid Dreaming. Soon she discovers the endless options of this new universe of opportunities: living a dream.

In Aituy, a little town on Chiloe island, every year they hold 'the procession of the Nazarene', a nine day celebration of Holy week in which all the locals fervently participate. Joselito and his father have decided not to participate in it this year. Joselito`s mother has recently died, leaving the family feeling isolated and without a reason to believe in Christ. Father and son have to face their loss and learn to take care of themselves and get along with each other, despite their being unable to live under the same roof. The mother`s absence becomes more and more present. The father becomes more and more helpless. winter storm season begins, the day of the procession is arriving and the tragic end is unavoidable,

Policeman Lasse rehabilitates young prisoners by taking them on survival course in the Swedish wasteland. And before he has to retire due to illness, he arranges one last trip.

This entry in Republic's "Three Mesquiteers" series has a misnomer for a title since the action takes place in Texas and pre-statehood Oklahoma, and the Rocky Mountains are in neither state, but Republic, which easily produced the best of the B-westerns, quite often used a title that had nothing to do with the locale of the film. Stony Brooke, Rusty Joslin and Rico are Texas Rangers unable to enter the territory known as the Panhandle as it is not part of the state, and lawlessness runs rampant there, under the guerrilla leader, King Barton. They discover a young boy, Danny Burke, wounded and left to die by the Barton gang. They nurse him back to health, but he is killed in another raid by the Barton outfit. Stony takes possession of the boy's gun and vows vengeance. Since the strip of land hiding the outlaws is under Federal authority, the Mesquiteers enter the territory with a plan to lure the outlaws across the Texas border. Stony, posing as his look-alike outlaw double known as The Laredo Kid, stages a jail break to free King Barton's younger brother Jim from a Texas jail and insinuates himself into the gang. Barton has been forcing a Panhandle gunsmith named Manners to provide weapons for him, and Manners' daughter, Doris, is antagonistic toward Stony, whom she believes to be The Laredo Kid. Stony soon convinces her of his true identity. The plot to lure the Barton gang into Texas is progressing nicely until the real Laredo Kid shows up and exposes Stony.

The girls of a college suspect one of them, Maria, of having an affair with Marini, a handsome chemistry teacher. Anna, another student and a snobbish socialite, is under Marini's spell and finds a rival in Maria. Things are tense for a while until the truth is unveiled: the man Maria gave a kiss to was her father, not the chemistry teacher. When Maria has an accident, her jealous co-ed repentantly helps her. She can now marry the man she loves.
