Samuel Adams himself was one of the original patriots, and Jim Koch revolutionized craft brewing, turning a bathtub brewing experiment into an empire. After a visit with Jim at the Samuel Adams brewery, Stuart can meet one of Samuel Adams' "Brewing the American Dream" grant recipients, like Adam Lantheaume, a former engineer who turned his passion for cocktails into The Boston Shaker, a shop where anyone can buy higher quality ingredients and tools usually available to restaurants and bars. Adam can bring Stuart and Jim to a bar like Drink, a lab/bar hybrid that experiments with bespoke cocktails. Our drinking buddies can ask for a cocktail with Samuel Adams as one of the ingredients! Stuart can chat up locals at Revolution-related spots along the Freedom Trail (which costs nothing - perfect for a Broke-Ass). As home to some of the country's most prestigious universities and smart, talented people, Boston is at the center of a Nerd Revolution that's changing what's hot today. Stuart can scavenge local dumpsters and estate sales with Steampunk Workshop proprietor Jake von Slatt, who tricks out computers, TV's and other electronics with Victorian-era hardware, giving our tools of the future the charm of a bygone era. He can check out the latest art/robot hybrids at COLLISIONCollective (an offshoot of the MIT student art group). Always looking for good, cheap food and drinks when he isn't busy busting rhymes, popular nerdcore rapper MC Frontalot can bring Stuart out to some neighborhood dives from his early days as a Broke-Ass MC in Boston. Stuart can finish his Boston trip getting down at Frontalot's headline show at the Penny Arcade Expo, a weekend convention that celebrates video games and comic books.
