S1.E5 ∙ De tranen van Mauro

My project recognizes the Filipino Veterans of WWII. During the war, these veterans were not allowed to join the U.S. military to help the American soldiers to defeat the Japanese, until the Presidential Order was passed. Many Filipinos have sacrificed a lot throughout the war. They have finally earn the Americans respect and prove their loyalty to other people as well. However after WWII, not all Filipino Veterans has been given their recognition, especially their compensations. Although, these Filipino Veterans showed a great example that America can change to be an ideal society and stood up as good role models and inspired many people.

About the public strike in Copenhagen, during the summer of 1944, resulting in confrontations between Danish citizens and German soldiers, but also between Frihedsrådet (Council of Freedom, the Danish freedom fighters) and Danish politicians.

Documentary marking the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Dunkirk, telling the story of the thousands of troops left behind to stop the German advance and facilitate the mass evacuation of Allied forces across the English Channel.
