Chidam encounters Chandara while diving in the pond for bathing beside his workplace. After several meetings in Chandara's village, they fall in love and get married at the nearest Temple, Unaware of his daughter's activities, her father wants her to marry someone else. Chandara elopes with Chidam, whose brother Dukhi Ram and sister-in-law Radha receive her cordially. Both brothers work for Zaminder and his caretaker Ram Lochon. After Zaminder arrives in the village, Ram Lochon orders them to work for him. Dukhi Ram goes to work feverishly and is beaten by one of Zaminder's servants.
