Martin takes away Magdalena, his girlfriend, from her home to live with him. There, Magdalena will take care of Martin's father, who's in bed very sick. But Magdalena's relatives are very upset with Martin. Cristino, her brother, looks for revenge in the bar, but Martin defeats him in front of the governor of the town. Martin's brother, on the contrary, is a good man with a prosper corn business, and soon he will marry with his girlfriend. But one night occurs a tragedy. Martin's father dies in a fire while he was sleeping, and he's blaming Magdalena about the accident. Martin leaves Magdalena, after seriously beating her up. Martin's brother fiancée tries to convince him about coming back with Magdalena, but he says that never loves the girl, and she's the one that he loves instead.
