Retelling of the Don Quixote story set in present day Scotland. Donovan Quick comes to the rescue of Lucy, the mainstay of the dysfunctional Pannick family.

Lucy Pannick is drinking too much, but trying to somehow hold together her dysfunctional family comprising of a son who is involved in criminal activities, a brother who suffers from a learning disability and her senile mother. A greedy local bus company, Windmill Transport, has monopolized the public transport in the area and cut important but less profitable services, including one that is vital to the lives of the Pannick family. Donovan Quick, a polite stranger newly arrived in town, comes to the rescue and takes on the windmills by setting up his owner operated one vehicle bus service. Against all odds and expectations, he proves to be an adversary to be reckoned with.
